Catalyst is a six-month Nanodegree that creates AI Champions — professionals with the deep knowledge, real skills, and current understanding to lead AI transformation. No prior technical background required.
Driving AI transformation demands a genuine understanding of what AI is, what it can and cannot do, and how digital transformation works inside organisations. Surface-level awareness is not enough.
The majority of AI education produces knowledge, not capability. Without working on real tasks, professionals leave with a certificate — and no evidence they can actually do the job.
The AI landscape shifts faster than any traditional course can track. Most programmes are already outdated by the time learners complete them — teaching tools and frameworks the industry has moved on from.
Catalyst is built around three answers. Deep knowledge — of AI, its capabilities, and how transformation actually works. Real skills — built by doing real job tasks, not by reading about them. And content that is always current — updated every two months, so learners are never studying last year's AI.
Traditional education teaches content, then tests knowledge. Catalyst inverts this entirely. Every unit of the programme begins with a task drawn directly from real job descriptions — things like “Assess organisational readiness for AI adoption”, “Build an AI project plan — scoped, resourced, and risk-assessed”, or “Conduct a process analysis to identify AI-enabled automation opportunities.” The lessons that follow are scaffolding — they exist to give learners exactly the knowledge, skills, and behaviours they need to complete that task to a professional standard. Learners are assessed on the task, not on a test. The output is a workplace-ready deliverable that goes directly into a portfolio.
A real job task, drawn from validated job descriptions for roles in the learner's chosen pathway. This is the thing they are working towards completing.
8–10 short lessons covering exactly the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to complete the task. Nothing more. Every lesson has a purpose: this one.
Assessment is the completed task — a professional deliverable, examined and added to the learner's portfolio. Proof of capability, not recall.
AI is changing faster than any higher education institution can track. Catalyst combines knowledge from leading universities with perspectives from working professionals at the frontier of AI — and updates its content every two months to reflect the current state of the field. Learners are never studying last year's AI landscape.
Champions who can lead from day one. Internal capability that replaces reliance on consultants for every initiative.
A team with shared language, frameworks, and a portfolio of real work — not a one-off training event.
A credible, Masters-level qualification gives high-potential professionals a reason to stay and grow.
Organisations that build AI capability now will outpace those that don't. The gap is growing.
The Zebrafish platform combines AI-powered learning with human support — world-class faculty, data-driven Learner Success Coaches, and live masterclasses — to deliver a programme that adapts to each learner while maintaining the rigour of a Masters-level qualification.
Each Nanodegree level can be taken as a standalone qualification or as part of a progression to the full Masters. Catalyst (Foundation) is the entry point. Learners who complete all three levels hold an MSc in AI Transformation — subject to DAPS accreditation from a partner university.
Firms that fail to develop AI capabilities risk being outcompeted — slowly, then suddenly. The organisations building internal AI expertise now are pulling ahead. Catalyst is how you build that capability in a way that lasts.
Early corporate clients join Zebrafish as Select Founder Companies — gaining curriculum input, customisation, founder pricing, and recognition in programme materials, in exchange for committing early and helping shape the programme for the industry.
